Ramarama School's giant puriri tree!

At Ramarama School we are very lucky to have a giant puriri tree on our school grounds!
Our school is turning 150 this year and we believe it has been here from very early on in our school's history (the black and white image was taken in 1954...can you spot it next to the courts?)
It towers over the school and is filled with all sorts of creatures...including Pepetuna! We went out to have a closer look after reading the story and found an old burrow with a distinct diamond shape. (photo not of our tree)

  1. That is so cool. Happy anniversary Ramarama School and what an old puriri tree that must be! The caterpillar must be very strong to make such a large hole in the trunk.
