Hello from Fantails at Kaipara Flats School. We are new to Blogging and are really looking forward to getting together with you in comments and posts. We looked at our book Kuia and the Spider today. Some of us think we might have seen this book before.

  1. Hi Fantails! You look like a lovely small class. We are going to write our predictions for Kuia and the Spider today. So far we have talked about the book and looked very closely at the front cover for clues about the story.

    1. Hi Pohutukawa 8. How did you get on with your predictions? We looked at the front cover and the name too. We had to learn what Kuia meant, then there were lots of new and interesting words in the story. Some of the words we talked about were - 'tread' and 'hoha'.

    1. Thanks Miss Dawson, we are so excited to be part of something like this we have even been looking at a map to see where some of the schools are. We love looking inside the other classrooms too.

  4. Hi Tui and Ms Donnell, thanks for the welcome. We have read the book twice now and still have questions. One of the things we like about the story is that both the Kuia and Spider have ten grandchildren.

  5. Wow! You noticed something that we didn't see. We didn't see that there were ten children and ten spiders in the book. We will read the book again and see if there is something else we can tell you about.
